Life

Wow it's really been a while since I wrote anything here huh.  Does anyone even read these anymore? Haha.  Well if you do thanks for sticking around.  I started this blog to work out feelings, talk about experiences, get my creative side out there.  For the most part, considering i'm quite introverted, I did kinda well I guess.  Feel free to correct me.

Truth is the last couple of months so much has been going on that I either couldn't, or didn't know how to word it all.....which is the lie I keep telling myself to not write I suppose.  The truth is I guess i've lost my reason to write.  It's tough getting and maintaning an audience (especially when you suck at it) but I guess I just didn't want to sit here and cry.

This blog above all was to encourage free speech, expression of creativity and eventually to be used as a platform for people to voice their opinions.  Big plans for a small blog eh?

Lately I feel empty, broken.  Everyday the same old thing, get up, put a smile on my face, make jokes, mask the sadness, the emptiness, and everyday  I end up where I began.  Not much to look forward to the next day, not much to expect, no hope to have and no motivation to drive me.

We're told so many fairy tales when we're young about how anything can be achieved and how the system works, you leave school you get a job and everything will be fine.  Only to find out that in truth the fairy tale is a lie.  School =/= job.  Job =/= happy. Truth is we go out into the world full of promise and expectations, only to be shut down at every angle.  I get that life is unfair.....I get that life will never be easy. The worst part is we as humans go out of our way to make it worse.  Not just for ourselves but for others.

Truth is as I write this I don't know what my future holds and honestly it scares me.

Reality Check: The Fuck?

Hey Guys so probably wondering why it says the fuck and not an actual issue.  Well that's because.....I don't even know the fuck is going on any more.  One week a lawyer is claiming that a barrister is being sexist over a linkedin chat message, next we have Ku Klux Klan members as state senators and now we have Paris being bombed and Hacktivists declaring war on ISIS.  I'm sorry but what's next? Religious war? Oh wait that's sorta happening now too.  Guys this is just getting out of hand honestly.

The amount of racism, sexism, terrorism and pretty much all the -isms is sky-rocketing and all because of........I don't even know actually.  There is no genuine logic to any of this honestly.  Heck the most logical people right now are the hacktivists.  I mean seriously.  If this shit goes any more south we're going to be looking up at hell.  Either each country will be at war with one another or agree to never ever communicate with other countries again and then summon all their people back to their respective countries.  I mean jeez i'm mixed race....which country do I go to?

Crappy jokes aside, these are dangerous times.  Muslim hate is increasing, number of deaths are increasing, the number of times the word terrorist has been seen is increasing, and people are just starting to panic and point fingers.

So what is the point of this post? Probably calm down.  There's a lot of crap that's gonna happen in the next couple months, and they're not gonna be good.  But right now people are just looking for an excuse to be the first ones to say: "lets kill them".  Please everyone lets try and keep a cool head about everything, no finger pointing, no hating.  I know it's hard to ask because honestly as humans we tend to be kinda selfish but we need to put that aside and really think about what future we want.  Start helping our own, and by our own I mean our species.  Yes I understand there are endangered species out there who apparently have more rights than a war veteran in the US, but right now we need to truly band together as humans and protect one another.

We're animals at the end of the day, and like animals we want to hurt those who hurt us, we want revenge because we think it'll be good, it'll feel good.  We even have a saying for it: "an eye for an eye".  Not only that but we also shun the sick, the weak, the helpless.  If we truly are as evolved as we claim to be.  If we truly wish to consider ourselves civilised and humane, we must drop these animalistic qualities and start truly thinking of others as our brothers and sisters.  Yes brothers and sisters, because at the end of the day, remove the differences in opinions, and the color of the skin, heck even remove the genders, and we are all one and the same.

We're not just a community, we're not just humans.  We are one.

My Top 10 Games

Hey guys.

So to kinda kick off with some content I thought i'd give a list of my top 10 games, these will span all known consoles (except Xbox coz....reasons).  These games are ones that I personally adore and play over and over or just have really really good memories with.  The only rules for these games are that they must be games I've played through and completed, no demos, and I must genuinely like the game for any reason be it gameplay, soundtrack or characters.  Oh and Pokemon will be in a seperate list....too many games from that franchise to just choose one.

************************************************************
#10

Spider-man 2 (PlayStation 2)

Alright so to start the list is Spiderman 2.  Not the Amazing Spiderman but the Toby Maguire one.  Yes I prefer Toby Maguire as Peter Parker so shoot me.  The game itself is pretty straight forward; you're spiderman......what you wanted more? Watch Spiderman 2.....too lazy? Fiiiiiine.

In the game you play the same storyline as the movie but with filler and more villains.  You web-swing through the city and help civilians with problems ranging from getting children's balloons to fighting criminals in mech suits.  The gameplay is simple and just generally ok, the soundtrack is nothing memorable but it fits the setting you're in.  The reason this game comes at #10 is because it's relaxing.  It's quite fun and relaxing to just swing around the city, perform stunts and solve the petty crimes.....or to get spidey to suicide jump off the Empire State Building only to save himself at the last second because whhhhy not?

#9

Mario Kart (Nintendo DS)

This game is just fun.  Not much of an introduction is needed really, Mario Kart is pretty much the same since it's debut on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).  It doesn't really have a plot.  Mario and friends were bored to shit one day and thought: "hey know what would be fun? Inviting our arch-enemies and racing around tracks filled with lava, dangerous plants and bottomless pits while hitting each other with shells and bolts of lightning".  I chose the DS version specifically because it's the first Mario Kart game I got and completed, as well as the first game on the DS I completed 100%.  Honestly for me this game is mainly a confidence booster though because the minute you get Mario's Shooting Star, and learn how to boost at the beginning of the race then you're pretty much guaranteed to come first every time.

#8

Breath of Fire 3 (PSP)

So in #8 we have the first of many turn based RPGs.  BoF3 is a game that is pretty much like Final Fantasy.  However it takes a different approach to it.  As a member of the brood, a powerful race of dragons, you wake up in the world as a little boy named Ryu who doesn't really know his place in the world.  The game revolves around the idea of him finding a place to belong.  While his friends Rei, Nina, Momo, Peco and Garr help him along the way.  The game moves at a kind of slow pace to begin with but it suits the relaxed nature of the setting around you.  The soundtrack always seems to reflect Ryu's mind.  Whether he would find a place peaceful or hostile, if he's in a hurry or taking his time the music will always give you a hint.  BoF3 doesn't bring much originality to the table other than the ability to transform into a number of different dragons depending on what genes you mix and match together.  Although it is kinda funny how the strongest transformation isn't a dragon but the main character gone super saiyan.  I love this game because it's a good game, the plot is interesting the music is quite relaxing and honestly that boss theme just really gets me hyped up.  Although the minigames are a bit of a hassle, and especially if you want to 100% complete the game, the mnigames will take up a lot of your time, most of these aren't central to the plot yes but they do help later in the game and quite frankly just serve to elongate the game.  That being said this game has a certain lack of challenge to it.  Even the strongest enemies in the game can be beaten relatively easily once you've established their pattern.  So if you want a nice relaxing game with some action and some funny moments this is definitely the game for you.

#7

Dissidia Final Fantasy (PSP)

I have a HUGE love - hate relationship with this game.  It pisses me off.....but I love it.

Let me explain.  Final Fantasy is one of my favorite video game franchises ever.  The story is always interesting, the characters are fun, the plot always thickens, and you always slay a God or God-like being at the end.  But you also have the superbosses to serve as an additional challenge, the ultimate weapons to collect and different fighting styles to try....this however is Dissidia. Think of an all out battle between the first 10 main characters of your favorite series and their respective arch rivals.  Now add a bunch of swords, a hint of magic and a dash of abilities and you have an awesome experience and a really fun game.

Dissidia employs a system of 1 on 1 battling, where you control a character's movements, completely abandoning the turn based system RPGs are used to.  The controls are simple to understand and perform.  The game itself is quite enjoyable but it's so damn difficult.  There were moments in the game where I just wanted to curse everything and everyone in existence.  But I didn't...coz i'm nice like that.

Anyway the game is kinda unfair as the Computer tends to cheat, it reads your input and lets it's character dodge and block at the perfect moments, even allowing it's characters faster cooldown times (so can attack and dodge more often).  Combine that with their better weapons and armor and you basically can't win.  In order to get the materials to buy the stronger weapons you need to beat the higher level opponents.... you need to actually beat higher level opponents with much stronger armor and weapons than you.  So this game becomes all about strategy, waiting for the best moment to strike, while avoiding your enemies attacks and considering whether to use a bravery move (a move that damages your opponent and increases the amount of damage a HP attack can do) or use a HP (Hit Point) attack (a move that decreases your opponents HP if it connects).

So why do I love this game? Because i'm a bloody masochistic fu.....I mean because the rush you get, the excitement, the happiness you get from beating that son of a bitch after he kicked your ass over and over AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND----

I'm sorry......I was reliving a horrible moment fighting one of the characters......

But as I said, that happiness you feel after beating someone who has been given a huge advantage over you makes it so worth it (people who have played Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 or Bloodbourne know what I'm talking about), and the game really is fun once you really figure out how to use a character to his or her fullest potential......or use Terra.  Terra rocks.

#6

Portal 2 (PC)

Wanna know why I like this game? Stick around and you might have some cake too.

Portal was one of the most innovative games to ever exist.  You start off with your silent protagonist, a woman named Chelle, who wakes up in the Aperture Science testing facility.  Through the course of the first game she learns to think with portals by using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device.  This creates 2 portals which are linked in such a way that anything going through one portal will instantaneously come out the other, no matter the distance.

Of course this puzzle game became extremely popular except for one small problem.  The game was way too darn short. About an hour gameplay and that was it.....

Enter Portal 2.

It's the beauty of the original Portal but with more substance, an actual plot and much more game play.  GLaDOS and Chelle make their return and honestly I love this game just from GLaDOS alone.  In case you're wondering, you know that sassy, sarcastic friend you have where everything they say is both funny and an insult? That's GLaDOS in a nutshell.  The game manages to balance out gameplay with humour, making you feel isolated for short periods of time yes, but making up for it with either some random things being said or a cutscene.  I do however love a specific part of this game and that is after you're lost in the old Aperture Science facility.  The feeling of loneliness is expanded on and in fact you really feel small and insignificant, especially when the facility doesn't seem to have a clear end.  Couple this with puzzles that are actually a little challenging and what you've got is a tough game  that will make you start feeling desperate and truly sad when unable to pass a challenge.

Oh and about that cake? Well........always remember the cake is a lie.

#5

Final Fantasy IX (PlayStation)

Hoo boy ok, FF9 is my favorite Final Fantasy game EVER (FF7 fans hate me if you wish).  This game did so much right it's just scary.  I'm a huge fan of medieval themed.....well anything really.  From movies to books to games most of the things I like are either medieval or set in the future.  That being said Final Fantasy IX really keeps true to the medieval theme, being more of a tribute to the first Final Fantasy.  The soundtrack is interesting, the FMV is beautiful and the plot (as with all Final Fantasy games) is just beautiful.  But what makes this game truly intriguing is the theme of life and death.  Throughout the game you encounter Vivi, a character who learns that his life is extremely limited, and Kuja, the main antagonist who knows the meaning of his existence and rebels against it.

The 2 characters however completely change throughout the game, Vivi learning that life is meant to be lived, to make good memories that will some day enter the planet's crystal and contribute to the cycle of life, and Kuja not being able to deal with the idea of his mortality, even so much as saying that the universe shouldn't be allowed to exist if he can't.

FF9 manages to bring everything together very well, any complaints I have with this game are small, such as Zidane's thieving abilities being pretty underwhelming.  With some enemies having items to steal that are only 1/256 chance of stealing and no real way to actually increase this chance.  Although my biggest complaint is also the biggest challenge of the game.  Not the superboss but the 12 hour challenge.  Let me explain.  To get the ultimate weapon for one of the characters in the game you need to get from disc 1 to disc 4 in under 12 hours......it takes me 8 hours to get 3/4ths the way through the first disc. Just. Plain. Evil.

#4

Wacky Races Starring Dastardly and Muttley (PlayStation 2)

WR truly lives up to it's name.  The game is insane.  Truly insane.  Mario Kart insane, but more vibrant and colorful, harder to control vehicles, and more cheaters (looking at you Dick Dastardly and Muttley).  The game has you control any unlocked Wacky Racer to go through a series of races, from normal racing to time trials to battle arena challenges.  This game is tough.  It throws anything it can at you and there is no one winning strategy......until you get car 00 (aka Dastardly and Muttley's car) then winning is as easy as spreading glue.  There isn't much to say about this game.  There's no real plot, no general meaning to what you're doing just grab it and race to your heart's content.  I will say though the boss races will have you banging your head against the wall because the win conditions are simple, but as they say easier said than done.

#3

Bravely Default (Nintendo 3DS)

Ok this game is awesome. It's about 4 characters, Tiz the villager, Agnes the vestal (a priestess), Edea the warrior and Ringabel.....the amnesiac embarking on a quest to awaken the 4 crystals and defeat the evil Duchy of Eternia.  The reason this game is #4 is because everything about it (almost) is amazing.  The soundtrack is majestic and reflective of the situation you're in.  Uplifting and energizing when in battle and relaxing when in a city like Florem.  Heck I have "That Person's Name is" and "Serpent Eating the Ground" on my phone and are 2 of the first songs I listen to when I leave my house.

The story is just engaging and interesting, pulling you in and making you wonder why everything is happening, what this world has to offer and what the inevitable outcome is.  The gameplay is simple and very strategic returning to the traditional RPG with the exception of the Brave and Default commands, and the 3D is pretty good.  However it's no. 4 for a couple reasons.  Mainly that the game is split into 10 chapters. Not a bad thing in itself.....until you realise that chapters 4-8 are the same damn thing.  A boss rush.  Which normally in RPG's isn't that bad, except that it's the same bosses you've been beating up just in groups, and in each case you can beat them with pretty much the same strategy.  By this point you already know who the true bad guy is and why s/he did what s/he did, but you're forced to play it out a certain number of times because why the bloody heck not?  Also whereas some of the voice acting is superb.....some (Agnes) are just (Agnes) terrible (Agnes), I won't (Agnes) name anyone (Agnes) specifically, (Agnes) but there is (Agnes) a character (Agnes) who at times will just make you lower the volume on your 3DS and hope nobody heard...........ok it's Agnes.  Is this game worth it? Heck yeah.  It's a lot of fun and quite interesting to change the jobs and abilities around and find a 100% winning strategy.

#2

Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves (PlayStation 2)

Ah Sly, you cheeky cheeky little bastard.

Sly Cooper is a raccoon whose entire family are master thieves.  Using the Thievius Racconus he has learned all the techniques of his ancestors and has set out to become the most successful honorable thief with his friends Murray the brawny hippo and Bentley the genius turtle.  Their adventures lead them to defeat the evil Clockwerk twice and now face their biggest challenge.  Entering the Cooper vault which has been taken over by the evil Dr. M.

This game is just so much fun.  Not only is the platforming fun and easy to grasp, but the challenges within the game are interesting and really test you.  In addition to the 3 main characters you now have access to 4 more side characters with their unique controls and actions.  I love this game too much to put it any lower because I just have so much fun playing it.  The chemistry between characters is good, they're interesting and fun to watch interact with each other, the sound effects and soundtrack fit perfectly, and you really feel like a master thief with all the jumping, swinging, sliding and gliding around that you do.  I do have some little complaints with this game but it's just too much fun to care.  Even when you're not out doing missions you can explore the stage and just have fun teasing bad guys, stealing, and testing out new gadgets.

Suikoden Tierkreis (Nintendo DS)

This game is truly amazing.  From the soundtrack to the plot heck even the voice acting is awesome.  It takes no. 1 (and gets me all choked up) because it was the first game that really made me sit and think about life, about my actions within a game and about destiny.  The game starts simply enough.  You control 4 characters as they decide to do some pest control with creatures called laggards.  After some time the characters come upon a valley....well just before the valley disappears in a flash of green and is replaced by a forest with some ruins.  All the characters slowly forget that the valley ever existed, instead thinking that the ruins always existed there and decide to explore them.

Once there they are attacked by strange monsters, the party is pushed back until they find a book.  This book, upon touching it, gives all but one of them powers.  New abilities such as healing, paralysing an opponent and (it's implied) super human strength.  The party then decides that they should discover what the book is about.  From there the story continues on to have the main characters included in a war that involves the destruction of their planet.

This game focuses heavily on the notion of whether or not a pre-determined future is desirable.  A future where you could forsee all pain and suffering, and where every smile, every surprise would be predicted or whether it's best to not know what's around the corner.  Honestly after beating the game I didn't know whether I was the hero or not.  Is saving the world worth others suffering?  Or is it best to have some people accept defeat so that others could live out a pre-determined future?

ST takes #1 slot because it made me think, it made me doubt what I know and what to think.  Heck after switching the game off I just sat there thinking to myself for 3 hours what I would have preferred.  Yes the game has it's flaws, it's not really challenging, it's not truly difficult and frankly the game can be beaten by playing through normally.  There are no real secrets other than getting all 108 members to join your team.  All this game wants you to do is focus on the plot and it's message and the people it affects.

I'd rather not give any spoilers (mainly coz this post is long enough as it is), but if there's any game I would recommend you try it's Suikoden Tierkreis.  But be warned, the Archivist and Auster Folk battle themes will stay in your head FOREVER.

************************************************************

Alright guys thanks for reading that was my top 10 favourite games, but honestly there are so many games I'd love to add and they'll probably be in a list on their own.  I'll probably make other individual lists.  Hope this post wasn't too long and you guys could bare with it for a bit.  As for me I'm gonna go look for some books in scary ruins, get super powers and save the world.

The Lonely Man

He stood there.  Gazing over the field and sighing.  His cloak covering him from head to toe as he continues his lonely life.

Walking through the field he is joined by many.  Rich and poor, men and women, religious and non-religious, black and white.  He unites them all as one for nobody can deny him.  Nobody can say no to him.

As he walks he amasses an army behind him, and continues his slow march around the world.  He never speaks, he never smiles, he never shows his face.  He just walks and is followed.

Some day we will all meet him, some will take it well and others will not be able to handle it.  But surely enough he is coming for each and every one of us, and this scares people.  He's alone in a sea of people simply because he is feared and hated.

He doesn't mean to though.  He knows that they wish him gone.  He knows that they wish him destroyed.  But all he can do is march on with everyone following behind.  At first he cried, now he just sighs.  For loneliness has embraced him, and he has embraced it.

He comes for us all.

It's not his fault, and it's nothing personal.  It's just a part of life.

So if you ever see him do not hate him, approach him, and tell him some stories.  Maybe he'll finally smile.

Final Fantasy X

Ok so I just finished Final Fantasy X and honestly the game is amazing.  It's a beautiful game with some very powerful messages themed around family and the sense of loss.  FFX is a game that plays with your emotions; and trust me when it ends you will be smacked in the face with "the feels".

************************************Spoilers**************************************

So FFX is a Role-Playing Game in which, as is the norm with Final Fantasy games, you control a team, or party, of people and progress through the game levelling up, getting new abilities and saving the day.  Although you don't level up in all RPGs such as Legend of Zelda.  In the case of FFX you level up but not exactly.  You get experience and grow Sphere levels which you can then use to increase your stats.  Whereas in the long run this is good and dandy, increasing sphere levels is pretty easy and long before the final battle you can make your characters strong enough to not find any enemies to be a threat.  Other than that this is a pretty standard RPG.

Now with the story and why I consider this an amazing game.

You start off as a character called Tidus, who lives the life of a blitzball star.  Blitzball is like football......but cooler (boy am I gonna get hate for that). One night during a blitzball match Tidus' city of Zanarkand is under attack by a giant whale like creature who's called Sin.  This monster sends down parts of it called Sinspawn to attack our main character and his protector Auron.  After the attack Tidus gets washed away and wakes up alone in some ruins, and after a run in with a monster is saved by a group of people called the Al Bhed.  Sin attacks and he loses his new friends waking on a shore near the town of Besaid.

There he meets summoner Yuna and her guardians, Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri.  A summoner is a person who goes on a pilgrimage to enlist aeons, powerful beings created from the dreams of the fayth.  The fayth are people who willingly had their souls sealed in stones so that they could continue dreaming.  Spira, you could say, is a place where dreams come true.  As the pilgrimage continues Sin attacks the party multiple times, Tidus finds out that the monster Sin that has been terrorising Spira for hundreds of years is his long lost father, the Final Aeon will become Sin upon it's death, the main religion are the Teachings of Yevon and the maesters (kind alike the popes) of Yevon turn out to be assholes.  All of them being unsent which are basically zombies....kinda.  Maester Seymour in particular has the party accused of treason, attacks the party, is killed and then tries to become Sin in order to kill everyone on the planet so they can stop grieving about death.......logic? The fuck is logic?

After the entire Yevon religion has been brought into chaos, find out that Tidus is a dream who will disappear when Sin is destroyed for good and Tidus and Yuna have a small makeout session (about 7 minutes with a japanese folk song "Suteki da ne" playing under the full moon) they move on to the ruins of Zanarkand and meet Lady Yunalesca who admits that the summoner must have one of his/her guardians become the Final Aeon by being sacrificed.  The Final Aeon would then become Sin over the course of the next 10 years thus continuing the spiral of death. After Lady Yunalesca is sent to the afterworld (aka the faplane) the party makes a plan to destroy Sin once and for all.  From the inside.

Once inside Sin they find his core.  Defeat Jecht (Tidus' father) and enter the final battle after a long heartfelt goodbye.  Yuna summons her aeons one by one as Yu Yevon, the one behind the Teachings of Yevon, who is the real mastermind and the real form of Sin, takes over each aeon, planning to use them to kill the party and make a new Sin to continue terrorising Spira.  The party defeats the aeons one by one until only Yu Yevon is left who, without an aeon to hide in, falls easily to the party.  The battle over the main characters must say their final goodbyes, as Tidus fades away. The last thing Yuna tells him being that she loves him.  The first and only time she had said it.  Tidus realising that Yuna truly loves him, attempts to hug her but can't as his body is dematerialising.  He then disappears.

Spira celebrates as the monster who destroyed their homes, their families, their hopes and dreams is finally gone.

Honestly this game was so sad and yet so amazing.  It reminds me why I love Final Fantasy.  Yeah the endings aren't always happy but the stories are always the best.  Final Fantasy X truly delivers in that department with an expected yet sad ending.

This game does however have it's faults such as methods to obtaining the ultimate weapons being a huge pain.  But hey the story is worth it.

*********************************************************************************

Honestly I love this game.  The gameplay isn't out of this world but it's familiar and a traditional RPG style, the story itself while not a masterpiece is simple and entrancing, the graphics for it's time are gorgeous (although it has been remastered for the PSVita with even better graphics).  This game honestly deserves the utmost respect and truly lives up to the name of Final Fantasy.

Rating: 9/10

Would I play this game again:
Not only will I play it again I would advise others to play it too.

Oh as for you lovely people who managed to find my ask.fm well I deactivated it mainly because I don't really use it, but if you guys wanna contact me you can message me on twitter; which should also be up on the sidebar too.

Alright guys thanks for being so patient, and to those of you going to uni or school have an awesome academic year.

Lightning, butterflies and balls oh my!! (Minigames: FFX)

Ok so everyone who has played a game know what a minigame is.  These are little games within the games, usually they take no longer than 20 minutes and are....alright.

Minigames range from really good to poor to awful to a nuisance.  Case in point I've been playing Final Fantasy X....lots and lots of Final Fantasy X, and one of the things I love to be in RPGs is overpowered.  That being said FFX has some of the most annoying minigames to complete in order to get the ultimate weapons.  These include butterfly capturing, blitzball and dodging lightning 200 times (admittedly not exactly a minigame but a feature of the game in a specific area but still).

So how do these work.

Butterfly hunting: you need to get the 7 blue butterflies without bumping into the red butterflies under time conditions (roughly 30 seconds).  Simple right? Well the added twist is that the red butterflies are nearly indistinguishable from the environment, to the point that you need to increase the brightness of the console you're playing on before attempting this.  There's also very small room for error as these butterflies are quite difficult to dodge, oftentimes finding yourself surrounded by 2, 3 even 5 at one point.  And the most evil butterfly of all is that one blue one that decides to sit right at the exit to the forest, go to far and you will exit the area thus resetting the minigame.

Blitzball: this is actually quite a big feature in the game.  You have 6 players who play in a large sphere filled with water and from then it's basically football.....but with more tackling that can cause poison or sleep....I still don't get how you can punch someone and they fall asleep....doesn't that mean they need hospitalization? I just don't....anyway so the goal is well to make more goals than the opposing team.  There are no fouls or extreme rules you just throw the ball from teammate to teammate, get it to Tidus (the main character) get him to use Jecht Shot next to the goal, repeat and voila, you win.  The game itself isn't difficult...just irritating.  You have to playthrough 3 league/tournaments to get a character's overdrives (ultimate attacks) and then you only have a 50% chance of getting the item you need to upgrade his ultimate weapon.  The leagues take far too long being 10 rounds each, and it just ends up being a nuisance having to do this over and over and over again. The funny thing is, if you've beaten everyone (not that hard) and reach round 7 without losing then there is no team that can catch up to you points wise, so you could literally sit there and let them have goal after goal and still win the league.

Lightning dodging: this......this is just pure evil.  The goal of the game is to press x when the screen flashes white.  The times this happens in are random, the lightning comes within the same second as the flash and sometimes you get 2 in a row just coz why not?  At least I don't need to do this crap 200 times right? ......right? .........damnit........It gets worse when you realise you can't save or exit the area because if you do the number of times you dodged gets reset.  This means you need to dodge 200 lightning strikes in 1 sitting.....

...nope. I'm done. Who needs ultimate equipment? I'm fine with only dealing 9999 hp damage.  Who needs that glorious 99,999 hp damage......*Sigh*

Alright well hope you guys have an awesome day, as for me? I'm going to grab some rubber shoes, a butterfly net and fill a dome with water. Gotta get that beautiful 99,999 hp damage.....some day you shall be mine

The Intruder

"She gazed at the world.

Its beauty.  Its shape.  It's intricate little details.  Her mission was to reach for this other world....but she could not.  All she could do was sit and pray for a miracle.....

"Nobody will answer....nobody will help...."

How long had it been? Months? Years? Centuries? Millenia?

No.  She had observed this world, this happy world for as long as she can remember...and she was sick of it.  Why did she not deserve happiness? Why was she locked in this dimension?

Her rage grew...it twisted her.  Slowly what remained of her humanity was stripped from her..."

"She was human?" the apprentice asked.

"Yes child.  She was a human,"  the old man rose and looked out the window before continuing with his story.  "and she was a beautiful one at that.  Her beauty was unparalleled, her heart could not be tamed, and her mind was one of he strongest I had ever known."

"Then....how sir?  How could she, as a human, develop such hatred that it would transform her?" asked the female apprentice.

"She fell in love...."

"But sir...is love really that bad?" asked the first apprentice.

"No child.....but when you're a fool and damage those you love....then it's bad.  For you see it was at that moment that her heart closed, her rage grew and the world could not contain it.  She had to be restrained, and that's when her transformation began.  Her emotions changed her.  Her body could not contain the hatred or the anger she carried and slowly dissolved, leaving the darkness within."

"And this is the darkness plaguing mankind."  a young man had appeared at the doorway, his attire immaculate and a cocky smirk on his face.

"So you made it to the class. Unfortunately you're not welcome." the old man turned to look at this intruder,

"Aw and I was looking forward to reuniting you with an old flame," a sword materialized into the young man's hand, as his eyes became as black as coal, his smirk grew to an evil grin and a dark aura surrounded him.  He opened his mouth as if to speak and what came out chilled the apprentices' voices to the bone.

A cold, and yet beautiful voice, dripping with malicious intent.

"You've gotten old my love" the voice said.

"And you my darling, are the most beautiful creature that i'll ever have to kill" the old man said as he unsheathed his sword.

Reality Check: Friendships

Hey guys and gals of the interwebs.

And that was my lamest intro ever.....joy.

So everyone has someone special in their lives.  Be it a soulmate or a family member  they hold dear.  maybe a role model they look up to.  Heck some people love themselves too much and become their own special one.

So I was going through some personal stuff a couple years back and honestly I had a lot of difficulty dealing with it, to the point that each day would be a struggle to get out of bed.  So one day as I was working at the school library I met this random girl who was kinda weird and shy but friendly.  Little did I know that that she would change my life completely for the better.  She really helped me think more and be myself, and though honestly I probably don't show it, she helped me mature into a better person.

So a long time ago I was asked the following question: What to you is a friend?

I couldn't come up with an answer because at the time I felt genuinely alone.  Heck to this day I dunno exactly what constitutes a friend.  Is it most trustworthy? Most loyal? The one who would help me cover up a murder? I really dunno.  I will say this though.  My friend, lets call her E, is someone I trust, someone I adore and someone I would gladly throw myself in front of a speeding bus for.  She helped me discover the value of friendship, and even though I still can't answer that question she's helped me draw some conclusions.

A friend isn't someone who always agrees with you or who hangs out with you, but one who listens and knows how to make you laugh, one who you can talk to after months and months of not talking as if it's only been a day; and to me friendship means family.

So on the day this post is being written on is actually E's birthday.  So this post is mainly for her but also for all you readers out there so please raise your imaginary glasses for a toast:

E you're a truly amazing friend.  I am who I am today because of you, I'm here because of you.  You introduced me to a world where I wouldn't have to be ashamed of myself, you helped bring me out of my shell.  Went along with some of my stupidity at times, to show me how much of an idiot I was being.  Most of all you've always been there when it mattered.   You're a very strong, independent and remarkable young woman and I know you'll go far in life, so keep being strong, keep being you, don't let anyone belittle or hurt you because you're worth so much more.  You're a person who I know can make a huge change in the world and I'll always be here to protect you my dear friend whether it's from statues and mannequins or boos and sentient masks that bring destruction via the moon.  So I wish you a very Happy Birthday.  May the rest of your life bring you the happiness you very much deserve and may our friendship last until the end of time.

So guys comment below what a friend is to you.

Updates! Huzzah!

Hey guys.

So I haven't uploaded anything lately.  I'm sorry.

Basically I've been writing some reviews for games that are taking a little longer than I thought.  I won't say which ones but one in particular is long.

I also am working on some new content and juggling that with trying to get a job.  Student life truly is like a beach.  Easy going and gentle, sometimes relaxing at first, then rough and unforgiving at night.

Anyway so this update is basically to apologise and to thank you guys for being patient with me.

Oh and I'm also working on another blog.  It's not yet ready but it's underway.  The content from this blog will all be moved there and this one will shut down.  Don't worry i'll keep you guys updated as to when i'll actually move things over and when the new blog will be ready.  It's going well so far and I'll probably get a Facebook page and the facebook commenting system ready there, so you guys can just use your facebook to comment or check things out.

Thank you all again for being so patient with me.  I have another post coming up after this one and possibly a creative writing one a bit later on this week.

That's it for this update so until next time guys, keep that imagination flowing.

(Oh i may also be experimenting for intros and catchphrases.......yep proof on 12th of august at 1:33am that my jokes get lamer and lamer with each passing second)
